Greg Norman will host the 22nd annual Shark Shootout at Tiburón Golf Club in Naples, Fla., beginning on Friday. Matt Kuchar will be making his fourth appearance in Naples. K.J. Choi, Darren Clarke, Jason Day, Jeff Overton and Mike Weir will be competing in their first Shark Shootout.

Tiger Woods will join two major champions and at least a dozen players from both Ryder Cup teams in his Chevron World Challenge in December at Sherwood Country Club. Still to be determined is whether the All-Star field will be without the No. 1 player for the third straight year.

Woods’ foundation announced the 16 players Monday who qualified from the world ranking, a group that starts with Woods and goes down to Sean O’Hair at No. 28. The field includes U.S. Open champion Graeme McDowell and PGA champion Martin Kaymer.

Lee Westwood, who could replace Woods at No. 1 in the world next month, will be competing in Sun City, South Africa. Woods has not played his tournament since winning in 2007 – he was recovering from knee surgery in 2008, and ran over a fire hydrant a week before last year’s tournament, setting off revelations of infidelity.

The Nedbank Golf Challenge is an annual golf tournament played over the Gary Player Country Club Course in Sun City, South Africa. It was inaugurated in 1981 and has had several previous names. Like most high profile unofficial tournaments in professional golf it takes place between the conclusion of the PGA Tour and European Tour official schedules in early November, and Christmas. It did not count for world ranking points, until the 2006 event, but nonetheless it attracted many of the world's highest ranked players prior to this.
